Get A Great Deal On Your Next Car
Author: Pat Nash | Words: 415 | Date: Sun, 19 Feb 2012

Everyone wants to save money and get good deals on their purchases. If you're thinking about buying a car and want to get a great deal, you should consider attending a government auction and bidding on a car at the local police impound. It can be a huge money-saver to buy cars from local police auctions since they can sell for up to 50, 60, or even 70% off their Blue Book value. The cars that are on for sale in the auction are cars that were repossessed from people because of their failure to make payments. Or, some of them are also cars that have been involved in the committing of a crime. Sometimes, they are also confiscated from owners who have unpaid tax liabilities.

There have actually been some really nice cars sold at these auctions for very low prices. Cars like Ferraris and Aston Martins have sold for prices equal to that of regular cars like Toyotas and Hondas. People have literally found their dream cars at these auctions without paying a dream car-price. Of course, these kinds of cars don't go on sale every day or every auction, but every now and then, you will see one and that's when you have to take action and start bidding.

Some people criticize these auctions and say that the cars that are for sale do not work properly or have functionality problems. This is all complete nonsense. The police/government wouldn't be selling them if they didn't work properly. And remember, just because something's cheap, doesn't mean it's broken. So don't listen to those naysayers as you'll only be hurting your chances of getting a great deal. If you are still unsure about the quality of the car, you can simply have it checked out by a mechanic. More often than not, what will happen is that you'll find out the car is actually in better shape than you expected. Police impound cars also tend to have very low mileage.

If this is your first time going to one of these police auctions, make sure you come prepared. Do your research on the cars that will be for sale before bidding for them. This is very important because you don't want to win a car only to find out its interior isn't what you wanted at all. Although the policemen will probably tell the bidders all the details of the cars, it's still best to be prepared.
